Church Services
The church services in the Parish of Postlebury include a communion service every Sunday at one of the five churches.  There are also services in Stoke St Michael or Leigh-on-Mendip most Sundays; these services are all listed in the calendar. The pattern of services will change slightly in February 2026.  Â
First Sunday 09.30 at Wanstrow and Leigh on Mendip
Second Sunday 09.30 at Nunney and 11.00 at Witham Friary
Third Sunday  at 09.30 at St Leonard’s, Marston and 11.00 Stoke St Michael
Fourth Sunday at 09.30 at Stoke St Michael and at 11am at Cloford Church, alternating between Matins (BCP) and Holy Communion. Â
When there is a fifth Sunday there is a Combined Benefice Communion service at one of the eight churches.
The communion services are based on Common Worship with some local preferences. Â
Other Services
There is a BCP (Book of Common Prayer) communion service every first and third Friday morning each month at 10 am in Nunney Church.
Third Sunday of month:  Soul Food alternating with Messy Church – informal services held at 4.00 pm in Nunney Church Â
BCP Matins held in Cloford Church on alternate months at 11 am and Evensong at Stoke St Michael Church on the first Sunday each month and at Downhead Church on the second Sunday.
Additional services which are often more family-friendly are held from time to time on feast days (such as Christmas) and for special events in most of the Postlebury churches with varying degrees of formality and liturgy.
There are organs in each church and ad hoc choirs are formed to perform during services. We also enjoy hosting concerts and other musical events.
