Nunney Church – Addition of a WC and disabled access

Nunney is the largest village in the Postlebury Churches area and the largest church building. It has no church hall and in 1994 converted two spaces at the west end into a kitchen and meeting room. However, although it is open to visitors every day and has a service every week, it has no WC. In addition access for visitors and worshippers with limited mobility or in wheelchairs is difficult because of the steps up to the West door.

Following consultation plans are being drawn up to make space alongside the kitchen for an accessible WC and to open up the South porch as an accessible entrance to the church with powered doors and a ramp into the church. The kitchen will have to be reconfigured as a result and more electrical work undertaken to modernise that part of the church building.

The WC can be made available to visitors to the village as there are no public toilets currently.

The estimated total cost of the project is £80,000 and we have already raised over £20,000 for it through the Friends of Nunney Church. If you would like to contribute, please donate here .
